more informationWith 650km of slopes on offer, there is plenty to keep even the most eager skier busy in the Portes du Soleil for a fortnight or more. Avoriaz is central to the domain which makes it a great place to explore the whole of the area from. Links are good and it is easy to get around the slopes to visit the surrounding villages, on both sides of the France/Switzerland border.
The views across the rugged terrain around Avoriaz are awesome and lower down, amongst the trees, there are also some lovely sights.
The nursery slopes are close to the village and with around half of the resorts slopes green or blue there is no shortage of novice terrain.
Intermediates are spoilt for choice and perhaps the most difficult thing they will have to consider is how late they can leave it before turning for home! The variety of terrain is amazing, with open snow bowls, tree-lined slopes and some lovely long trails.
