Is this the best resort in France? Yeah - If you like great skiing, great food, and awesome party nights.. It offers great ski connectivity and excellent slopes, especially for beginners/intermediaries.. Ah yeah, it also has great looking people..

This was my first ski experience. I visited 1850. Excellent nursey slopes for the kiddies and beginners. Runs are wide but do get busy so would recommend staying close to the nursey runs whilst you learn those parallels. Great resort and very cosmopolitan. There is a great amusement area with bowling, arcades and lots to do apres. Lots of restaurant choice and the food is very good. Although we stayed in a 2* hotel this was very clean and cosy. But the nightclub opposite was a bit of a nightmare for a light sleeper. I definately will go back again.

Courchevel is probably not only the best resort in France, it' arguably the best in Europe. The skiing in Courchevel itself is wide ranging from the long easy runs into and through the village suitable for any beginner (giving great access to the slopes from most hotels), to the most difficult blacks (Grande Couloire rating in the top ten most difficult in Europe) and a great range in between. Then combined with the wider area of the 3 Vallees you get an unbeatable ski area. It's not just skiing, there's loads of other stuff available in the village, from bowling to a 2k toboggan run, and plenty of Bars and Restaurants to keep all tastes interested, even two 2* restaurants next door to each other! I'm clearly a fan, having worked and lived in France this is where I now go for a holiday, and probably will again next year.
