Courchevel is considered by many to be the ultimate ski destination, and attracts all those who search for the very best in accommodation, skiing, and shopping. Named after its altitudes, 1850 is THE place to be in Courchevel, if not the entire Alps. Everything here is just that little more special; from the bars and restaurants to the boutique shops and jewellers, making it a haven for Europe's jet-setters as well those just wanting a good time.
It is also highly advisable that you pre-book in advance the restaurants, as they tend to get booked early with families and large groups.
Starting at 1350 (La Plaz) you also have 1550, 1650 and 1850. A resort known for its wealthy clientele, but don't let this put you off, as with its vast area, there are superb accommodations to suit all budgets, whether you are a family, group of friends or a couple.
Courchevel has a great Ski School all the ESF instructors are fully trained and have a high level of expertise and knowledge to get you on the slopes. The nursery area "ZEN" is fairly large and away from the runs, allowing less intimidation and giving you more chance to build up confidence and technique. The instructors are not slow they will have you down a green run in a day - so be prepared!
1850 gets quite busy as you tend to find people staying at the lower resorts come by bus to 1850 as this is a great altitude and offers beautiful surrounding areas. Shops, bars and après ski is pretty central in each of the resorts, with lots to do off the slopes.
Once you have been to Courchevel, you will definitely want to come back.
