Down at resort level, there is a fine choice of Italian, sushi and Chinese food. Last year’s reporter enjoyed the seafood at Rimrocks and had some fine French cuisine at the Val d’Isère. For an intimate dining experience, La Rua is romantic without being hugely expensive. Lower budget, Carumba is a favourite with the locals and always has a lively, friendly atmosphere. Araxi’s recommended for its “splendid” wine list. One must-do is breakfast at the Roundhouse – have the full Canadian Monty and wait for the ski patrol to drop the ropes around the restaurant.
